Brothers and Sisters of Children with Special Needs
Does your child feel left out, neglected, or resentful of a special needs sibling?
Does your child then feel guilty because of this?
Is it tough to balance the different needs of all your children?
Life
can be a challenge for kids who have a brother or sister with special
needs such as autism, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Asperger's Syndrome
or ADHD.
As
a parent you do your best to support all your kids. Sometimes it's just
too much to handle. I can help your family manage all these different
demands.
I've
spent years working with children with special needs, and their
families. I can help your child manage all the mixed feelings that come
with being in a family with a special needs sibling. I can provide a
neutral place where your son or daughter can feel free to deal with all
the different issues that may come up, like guilt, resentment, and
anger about how unfair life can be. I can help your child figure out
how to best relate to, enjoy and appreciate a sibling with special
needs.
Please contact me to discuss how I can work with your family.
